Maxine Jewett called the meeting to order at 7:10pm Monday 11/22/10. She thanked the board for their service over the past year and announced that she would be stepping down as president so she could devote more time to Cup-o-Karma and the causes (NATN and SEEDS) that they support.

Maxine reported that the treasury had $28.

Maxine called for the election of officers from the board members consisting of Ethan Rutkoff, Bob Zucker, Rick Dyer, Maxine Jewett, Dave Baumann, Barbara Herber, Jenny Turner, Dave Anderson, Gavin Wieser, and Eric Laubach. Nominations as follows:

President: Ethan Rutkoff - nominated by Bob Zucker, second by Maxine Jewett
Vice President: Jenny Turner - nominated by Bob Zucker, second by Eric Laubach
Secretary: Eric Laubach - nominated by Maxine Jewett, second by Rick Dyer
Treasurer: Gavin Wieser - nominated by Maxine Jewett, second by Bob Zucker

There being no further nominations, the above were voted unanimously into office.

New Business.

Bob Zucker proposed that SAM be actively involved in an upcoming one day East Valley Acoustic Music Festival scheduled for November 19, 2011 from 10AM to 5PM. He is looking into corporate sponsors and vendors for handmade crafts sales and displays. Negotiations are in the works for a national headline for an evening concert to close the festival. Alice Nelson is assisting him with enrolling craft exhibitors. All crafts will be by local artists and craftsmen - no national brands (unless headquartered in Arizona), imports or mass-produced items.

Eric Laubach suggested that we obtain a more complete list of acoustic music festivals in AZ for the web site so members/performers would have advance opportunity to apply to perform.

Ethan Rutkoff stated that the venues listing on the web site needed to be updated and the board could work on festival and venue info in the coming months.

Bob Zucker suggested that SAM might benefit from a Facebook page as an additional resource for announcements and performances. Ethan Rutkoff said he would explore the opportunity and the board could discuss it in the near future.

Ethan suggested that SAM members volunteer for the Channel 8 televised pledge drives. As a group we could get some publicity for SAM from it. Interested members can contact him directly.

There being no further business to discuss, Bob Zucker moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Maxine Jewett. Unanimously passed by voice vote.
